Since today is Sunday and i missed out on front row seats at mass i'll write about the movie Jesus camp. Jesus camp is a documentary on kids from all over the United States who go and attend a camp in north Dakota to become the next big evangelist. The camp is ultra right wing conservative fundamentalist christian and these kids are all brought up with the "all fags are going to hell" "evolution is Satan trying to trick you" "abortion is the devil killing babies" all the life lessons kids should learn at an early age.
When kids are this age whatever is being told to them or done to them is what shapes them as a person for later in life and when you home school a kid and teach them "christian science" and "faith" as the subjects for school and cram all the crazy fundamentalist beliefs about abortion, evolution, blacks, electricity, Starbucks, or anything else they might hate down these kids throats they just absorb it all and don't question it. What's so discouraging about this is that its no different then telling your kid at age 3 and on that you were born on the planet Neptune and sent over by markalth the king of the Neptunian's because you were not fit to live on Neptune and then teach your kid that TV is what the Neptunian's enemy Bargash uses to destroy kids brains. The point is that you can tell a kid the most bizarre, crazy bullshit stories and morals and they will just take it all in with no questions asked then later in life be completely crazy and start preaching about the Neptunians. Doing this to kids is a form of abuse.
At this camp they have the kids do things such as paint their faces and dance as christian warriors to some bible music, put tape around their mouth with the word "life" and yell at the devil about abortion, smash glass cups with "evil" things on them, speak in tongues while doing crazy prayers and yell and cry. Just let these kids stay at home and watch some cat dog, eat corn dogs, and learn the drug trade business all the activities kids should be doing at this age! instead of smashing cups with the word gay on them while yelling and crying at Satan about not being tempted. These kids miss out on being kids and get brainwashed and it is extremely unhealthy and camps like this need to be closed down.
